Rugs Rugs & More Rugs!!!!

A few weeks back I posted some gorgeous photos of some Pure NZ Wool Rugs that are handmade, well there is quite a story behind it all, but the short version is that these rugs which are the same rugs in the previous photos are now available direct from the designer ( actually my mum). She designs and hand makes them, sizes are completely negotiable but the basic size is 1m x 1.5m which is an awesome price of $250.
She has started a facebook page under Design Unlimited, which would be amazing if you could go and "Like". Any inquiries can be through the facebook page or through myself, and would be more than happy to answer any questions.

Pantries.....

Good Spring Morning to you all !!!

A couple of weeks ago I started a little series where I mentioned the four most forlorn or forgotten spots in our homes. Last but not least to be mentioned is the pantry.
The pantry has a bit of a hard time at our house nothing has a special spot and any sort of organising that started out has long since been shoved out of the way (literally) especially since I and possibly most of you will have little people helping out.

Today I am going to show you a few photos that I have found that hopefully will inspire you to spring clean that pantry and organise.... It's even the right time of year ;)

If you are already sorted (literally ;) but the pantry is just another tired cupboard or just lacking some oomph, I have a few ideas up my sleeve, but the possibilities are endless. If you have an amazing pantry or even a great idea that you would love to share please please do!!

My Ideas of sprucing the pantry include:
* Painting the outside doors to add wow factor to the whole kitchen/ area.
* Find a funky/ use up the end of a roll of wallpaper on the inside of the doors.
* If painting the outside is too much, paint the inside in a colour you love, aqua, red,    yellow, neon pink or even a metallic!!!!
* Great for keeping little people busy while you fix dinner, paint the inside of the doors with chalkboard paint, they draw you cook.
* Replace the boring door to the walk in pantry with a vintage door or a rustic wooden one or even a wooden screen door in an amazing colour.
* A cupboard full of matching stackable colour coordinated containers with labels etc would be amazing but if you prefer a slightly more casual look, save glass jars with lids that seal, i.e Moccona jars with labels soaked off. Second hand stores often have a good range of glass jars making it affordable for everyone.
* Replace those old handles with something modern or vintage, available in a huge range of chrome, brushed chrome, ceramic etc. This is especially great if you have a stand alone pantry.

Now for some visual inspiration.......

The pantry of pantries!! I love it! I would want it to be completely round though...
This has the WOW factor, what is there not to love right???
Pantry
Love the use of baskets and the jars with wooden lids all make the earthy organic feel.

copper kitchen
This is my idea of a butlers pantry!! The copper lights are simply stunning.
This is really interesting. It's not that deep so maybe it could work in places I never thought off. Everything is so easy to see/grab. Love it!
The rustic barn style doors are a great feature......

Pantries!!!!
Colour Inspiration, this to me speaks of a home garden grannys preserves and strawberry preserve on the stove, I can smell the goodness :)
Things We Love: Butler's Pantries
OK, so I have a thing for black kitchens, so smart don't you think?

Pantries, pantries, I see pantries everywhere (was xmas decorations @ Zilverblauw)
Stoage space at a minimum, even a cupboard this small can help out, great in colour as a feature and this toddler has the right idea with chalk even if it isn't chalkboard paint.
Cooks and cocinas ...
I absolutely love this kitchen area, to be honest, there is no pantry however I had to share, plus the bank of wooden drawers on the left more than make up for the lack of pantry, I am currently on the look out for something very similar that I can use as an island bench. The pink curtain and yellow chair really make it fun!!

Pretty Pantries Feature Pic from Homestories A2Z
LOVE the colour and detail on the wooden screen pantry door......

Hopefully you are feeling as inspired as I am to do something fun and possible colour filled with your pantry, I just have to make up my mind which idea to go with haha. (I'm not holding my breath for the pantry to get done today, I am off to finish painting our "other" living area aka kids playroom/sunroom)
Have a great day, and please pop back for a visit another day. xx Ingrid

Laundries...

So Sorry I have been MIA for a bit, busy, busy + sick kids = no ME (blog ;) time.... I am supposed to be getting my eldest daughter ready for school as she is going today for the first day this week! Blog time first right???? Haha.

LAUNDRIES:

These are one of the hardest working rooms in the house, a tidy, uncluttered, organised laundry makes life so much easier!!!

I have shared some photos below (images via pinterest) hoping it will give everyone some inspiration to help turn the often neglected, tired, or just unorganised laundry into a place that is pleasant to work in. Enjoy!

I like the towel storage, perfect for summer with the pool, and the floor to ceiling storage
Floor to ceiling storage is AMAZING!!!
now THIS is how you do a laundry room! tabletop for folding, simple cabinets to hide stuff, and a tv for watching while folding!
Great for a small spot, and how about a screen to watch tv while you are folding. This could also be done in a cupboard, just shut the cupboard doors across and Presto!!! goodbye laundry hello visitors ;)

Your laundry doesn't have to drab and boring. Make it fun and a place where you would want to spend time in. Adding the patterned area rug is a great idea for a focal point and excitement in this space.
And.... How about a spot of colour, this is a gorgeous laundry with plenty of storage and looks like it doubles as a mudroom. Excellent just what I need.....

Laundry Day
A touch of whimsy, I know its not a laundry but I love clean washing, I love hanging it out, (folding, ironing not so much) but this photo caught my eye!

Have a gorgeous day, hope this was inspiring, and may your washing get dry today!!!! Ingridxx

Workshop @ Jumbled with Emma Blomfield....

Workshop!!.......

I had the pleasure of meeting the gorgeous Emma Blomfield of Nest Designs when a friend and I went to the lovely JUMBLED workshop on Saturday afternoon.
Firstly I got to pick her brains about a tricky room in my own home that I was struggling to figure out where to start what to do, and as I love colour but can be a little unsure of using it other than accessories, she helped me decide to "go for it & have some fun" with this particular room, just the "push" I needed. I have decided to share this room before and after with you all at a later date...
Secondly, I have studied Interior Design but it was great to be reminded and refreshed of lots of tricks and tips, I thought over the next couple of weeks I might share some of these with you all, so here goes.....

Forgotten rooms or areas....

*Hallways
*Laundries
*Bathrooms
*Pantries

Basically these areas are typically "work horse" type areas but that does not mean they can't be gorgeous, colourful or quirky. I cannot talk as my Front Entrance/ Hallway is a little bland, I am going to work on that, so I hit "Pinterest" for some inspiration. Here is a few that caught my eye........

Gorgeous Geometric printed wallpaper and chair
I adore this wallpaper, and chair, together they have the WOW factor!!! This would be great for any area in the house, I think I am in love :)

Wallpaper in the hallway
BOLD Wallpaper which looks stunning!!!!!
hallway flooring
Simple, crisp and calming.....
Make an Entrance. A hallway painted in black and white.
A great DIY project, finding an assortment of frames or mirrors and painting them all the same colour......

My Home Tour: The Hallway
A collection of pictures photos and ornaments that are close to your heart makes a stunning visual display.....

A must see are these to-die-for Billy Heckenberg cushions. It is a Sydney based label by designer Madeliene Duggan.
I am loving the slightly industrial feel of the zip as a feature on the front of the cushion and the colours are fantastic, very NOW!.
I have provided the link so you can see the whole range and read about where she gets her inspiration from online.
Hmmm I see a Christmas list starting already. :)  Enjoy!

A little about me......

Hello,
A little about me...
Serious lover of colour and interiors !!!
I studied an Interior Design Course through long distance education after the birth of my eldest daughter. After renovating our first home, selling, moving country, renovating our next home and having my second daughter I finally finished my 4 year course. Apart from feeling like I was back at school trying to get assignments in on time, I loved it.
I am a currently a stay at home mum to my 2 darling daughters, one now school age one still at home, while I organise some ideas I have and make some dreams happen.
Pippin Home came about as I started sewing vintage style Japanese cotton and lace dresses for a local childrens boutique at which I was working part time as well, but my interest still lies in interiors and fabrics and colours for the home, so in the meantime I felt the need to share some of the inspirational people, businesses, and ideas that I come across in my serious addiction to Pinterest, Facebook, Instagram and various blogs.

Have a great day and ENJOY!
