A couple of weeks ago I started a little series where I mentioned the four most forlorn or forgotten spots in our homes. Last but not least to be mentioned is the pantry.
The pantry has a bit of a hard time at our house nothing has a special spot and any sort of organising that started out has long since been shoved out of the way (literally) especially since I and possibly most of you will have little people helping out.
Today I am going to show you a few photos that I have found that hopefully will inspire you to spring clean that pantry and organise.... It's even the right time of year ;)
If you are already sorted (literally ;) but the pantry is just another tired cupboard or just lacking some oomph, I have a few ideas up my sleeve, but the possibilities are endless. If you have an amazing pantry or even a great idea that you would love to share please please do!!
My Ideas of sprucing the pantry include:
* Painting the outside doors to add wow factor to the whole kitchen/ area.
* Find a funky/ use up the end of a roll of wallpaper on the inside of the doors.
* If painting the outside is too much, paint the inside in a colour you love, aqua, red, yellow, neon pink or even a metallic!!!!
* Great for keeping little people busy while you fix dinner, paint the inside of the doors with chalkboard paint, they draw you cook.
* Replace the boring door to the walk in pantry with a vintage door or a rustic wooden one or even a wooden screen door in an amazing colour.
* A cupboard full of matching stackable colour coordinated containers with labels etc would be amazing but if you prefer a slightly more casual look, save glass jars with lids that seal, i.e Moccona jars with labels soaked off. Second hand stores often have a good range of glass jars making it affordable for everyone.
* Replace those old handles with something modern or vintage, available in a huge range of chrome, brushed chrome, ceramic etc. This is especially great if you have a stand alone pantry.
Now for some visual inspiration.......
This has the WOW factor, what is there not to love right??? |
Love the use of baskets and the jars with wooden lids all make the earthy organic feel. |
This is my idea of a butlers pantry!! The copper lights are simply stunning. |
The rustic barn style doors are a great feature...... |
Colour Inspiration, this to me speaks of a home garden grannys preserves and strawberry preserve on the stove, I can smell the goodness :) |
OK, so I have a thing for black kitchens, so smart don't you think? |
Stoage space at a minimum, even a cupboard this small can help out, great in colour as a feature and this toddler has the right idea with chalk even if it isn't chalkboard paint. |
I absolutely love this kitchen area, to be honest, there is no pantry however I had to share, plus the bank of wooden drawers on the left more than make up for the lack of pantry, I am currently on the look out for something very similar that I can use as an island bench. The pink curtain and yellow chair really make it fun!! |
LOVE the colour and detail on the wooden screen pantry door...... Hopefully you are feeling as inspired as I am to do something fun and possible colour filled with your pantry, I just have to make up my mind which idea to go with haha. (I'm not holding my breath for the pantry to get done today, I am off to finish painting our "other" living area aka kids playroom/sunroom) Have a great day, and please pop back for a visit another day. xx Ingrid Feel free to follow me on pinterest where I continually add to my boards with new ideas and inspiration I find along the way.
